Multi-level representations (like deep structure and surface structure) have been gone from generative linguistics for a while now. They've retained movement, of course. In Minimalist grammars, the structure can be derived entirely with merge and move.

Well deep-structure vs surface-structure gave way to D-structure vs S-structure which gave way to concepts such as LF vs PF. By "multi-level representation" I'm including the LF representation (Semantic) vs PF representation (Phonetic) (as they are often referred to as Interface Levels). Even though they aren't derived from one another, they are distinct representations. And, in the context of this discussion, the PF level can be spelled-out in a different order to the structure at the LF level.
