Word cloud for Galatians

Post by Jonathan Robie »

Here is a word cloud of Galatians:

I apologize that this is in English, but it is a useful way to consider the major themes of Galatians. I will generate a Greek word cloud some time in the coming month.
ἐξίσταντο δὲ πάντες καὶ διηποροῦντο, ἄλλος πρὸς ἄλλον λέγοντες, τί θέλει τοῦτο εἶναι;

Even if this were employing Greek words, I have some difficulty seeing how it is helpful to thinking about the document.
οὔτοι ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς πάντα θεοὶ θνητοῖς ὑπέδειξαν,
ἀλλὰ χρόνῳ ζητέοντες ἐφευρίσκουσιν ἄμεινον. (Xenophanes, Fragment 16)

That might conceivably be more useful, but the form εἴδω as the lemma for "I know" sort of sticks out like a sore thumb. Unquestionably εἴδω is cognate and belongs to the same verb root, but the data from which it was compiled might be a bit out of whack, and I guess I'm nit-picking.
