Is the combination καί γε a feature of LXX Greek?

Post by Stephen Hughes »

Is the combination καί γε a feature of LXX translation Greek affected by the Hebrew Vorlage, or was it a common combination at that period of the evolution and development of the language?

The overwhelming majority of the cases where γε is used in the LXX is in the combination καί γε.

It is also used in a limited number of places in the NT.

How would that style of speaking / writing have impressed a Koine speaker who was not versed in the LXX?

Does "we gam" belong to a certain period of Hebrew?
