I agree with the first part of this, but I am not sure about "material nature in contrast to the spirit nature".

It does, TDNT 7:128:3-129, but Schweizer doesn't exactly agree with your analysis. On page 129 paragraph 2, he concludes "In 1 C. 15:50, then, SARX KAI AIMA denotes the whole man with all his functions."
