Re-reading now the passage, it seems to me that it is not quite impossible to link directly the last clause (καὶ γῆ καὶ τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ ἔργα εὑρεθήσεται KAI GH KAI TA EN AUTA ERGA) to the first (Ἥξει δὲ ἡμέρα κυρίου ὡς κλέπτης HCEI DE HMERA KURIOU WS KLEPTHS), thus: Ἥξει δὲ ἡμέρα κυρίου ὡς κλέπτης ... καὶ γῆ καὶ τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ ἔργα εὑρεθήσεται. HCEI DE HMERA KURIOU WS KLEPTHS ... KAI GH KAI TA EN AUTA ERGA. The meaning of εὑρεθήσεται would then be 'will be found' in the sense that 'they will not escape', 'they cannot hide'.

Because they consider the common reading to be too
incomprehensible.
The new reading is close to a conjectural emendation. It is
supported by Sahidic witnesses and the Philoxenian Syriac.

Btw, you can find all changes here:
