When I was reading your message, I remembered a phrase from Rom 9:17:
EIS AUTO TOUTO EXEGEIRA SE... about the same Pharao. So maybe what looks
like passive in LXX is really passive?
Also I wish to thank everybody who took time to help me with that 1Cor 15
passage.
