We've discussed this before at some length; my own view is that it's not
necessary, that TA turns PROS THN QURAN into a substantive meaning "the
areas/parts in the vicinity of the door without any need to assume a neuter
noun implied by the TA. Moreover I've offered my explanation of the grammar
of this phrase as an accusative of specification with the impersonal MHDE
CWREIN.
