The time has come to close this thread and subsidiary threads related to it
under any subject-header. Surely all has been said that can be said about
it; differing perspectives have surely been voiced fully. It has become
tedious and it has long seemed, to me at least, that theological
convictions are at play rather than endeavors simply to understand what the
Greek text may legitimately mean.
