Still on the project I mentioned earlier (subject: Enclitics), I came across
a translation that raises a question. Kirsopp Lake translates:
ALLA KAKEINOS DOXASQEIS MEGALWS OUK EMEGALORHMONHSEN
"but he, though he was given great glory, did not use great words"
Now, I would never challenge Lake, but the -EIS ending of DOXASQEIS looks
like second person plural. If I were to translate this, I might have
written:
"but the one you glorify greatly did not boast"
Where am I going wrong?
