perhaps. but the words of Amos echo in my head- when he accuses the women
of Samaria being "cows of Bashan". This is clearly not intended to be a
compliment.
There seem to be a wide range of possible understandings of the word "fat"
in the LXX. My question, to focus it a bit more, is- is it proper to
understand it in a positive way in the Eglon episode.
