I thought this might interest some people here who aren't on Ioudaios.

Just an announcement that might be of some interest to some IOUDAIOI:
It seems that HarperCollins is hosting a symposium on the historical
Jesus in mid-February, and is following this up with an e-mail
debate/discussion among J. D. Crossan, Marcus Borg, and Luke T. Johnson.
I suspect that even people not interested in the details of historical
Jesus work might find the debate interesting, since, given the
participants, the lines will be drawn around general issues -- the
reliability of NT texts and so forth. To "listen in" on the debate send
the message: SUBSCRIBE JESUS2000 (no other text) to:
lists@info.harpercollins.com. You'll be added to the list immediately,
but I think will get no mail from it until mid- to late-February. There
will be no opportunity to post to this list -- you can only "listen."
And, yes, I know this is just a way for HarperCollins to sell more books,
but I'm not trying to give them a free plug here -- just letting you all
know of an item of interest.
later,
Bill
