It may be that there are certain syntactical relationships that tend toward
one or the other. Aor ind in protasis and fut ind in apodosis will tends
toward cause/effect. Constructions with DUNAMAI + infinitive in the apodosis
tends to be grounds/inference. But most syntactical constructions can go
either way, depending on context, and in many of those cases a distinction is
difficult.
