My question is: wouldn't it be more logical to translate the last part of
the phrase as "so many kinds of sounds, and there is nothing without
sound"? It seems to me that FWNOS used twice in the same verse should
mean the same. What do you think?

What caught my attention here is the 4th class condition. I don't know if it
is rare or not, but it sure looked awkward to me when I saw your
transliteration of TUCOI. And sure enough, it was an Optative.

I think AFWNWN has the idea of "senseless." Hence, IMO, Paul is saying
something like: if we could listen to the voices that exist in this world
(all if possible), not even one would be senseless. (By implication, so why
are you trying to manufacture or emulate this "senseless" noise.)

So I would think that we ought NOT to translate both as VOICE or SOUND with
the corresponding negation.

Notice that I have tried to state this conditional in such a way as to
highlight a "practically impossible" implication. My question is: what does
this 4th class imply? Is Paul saying something along the lines that it would
be a physical impossibility (i.e., "practically impossible) for us to
"actually" listen to "all" the voices/sounds in the world, but if we did
(4th class impossible or highly improbable condition), we would not find one
that was senseless.

Am I close?

Thank you,

Mark Wilson
