
{"id":11025,"date":"2010-06-16T13:17:35","date_gmt":"2010-06-16T21:17:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carrborocitizen.com\/main\/?p=11025"},"modified":"2010-06-16T13:17:35","modified_gmt":"2010-06-16T21:17:35","slug":"builder-wants-fees-lowered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ibiblio.org\/carrborocitizen\/main\/2010\/06\/16\/builder-wants-fees-lowered\/","title":{"rendered":"Builder wants fees lowered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Builder Cam Hill said he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s finally found sound tenants for the Cleo Sterling building on N.C. 54, but wants to see the town lower its fees before he proceeds with upfit plans.<\/p>\n<p>Hill, speaking at a Carrboro Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday night, said he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been frustrated over the years because the town\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s building code would require either sprinklers or an expensive division of the building before its use could be changed from manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>With a manufacturing tenant lined up, he wants to go ahead with dividing and renovating the space, but says the town is asking for exorbitant fees for the building permits.
