The university declared both student-athletes ineligible due to violations of NCAA agent-benefits, preferential-treatment and ethical-conduct rules. According to the facts submitted by the university, the total value of the benefits is approximately $4,952 for Little and $5,642 for Quinn.<\/p>\n<p>Little accepted diamond earrings and travel accommodations for the Bahamas, Washington, D.C. and two trips to Miami, among other benefits. Quinn accepted two black-diamond watches, a pair of matching earrings and travel accommodations for a trip to Miami, among other benefits.<\/p>\n<p>The school also dismissed Marvin Austin from the football program for violations of NCAA agent-benefits, preferential-treatment and ethical-conduct rules.<\/p>\n<p>At a press conference Monday, coach Butch Davis offered an apology for the violations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153As head football coach, it is clearly my responsibility to be in charge of the football program,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Davis said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153To help educate the players and to help educate their parents\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6. I personally want to apologize to the chancellor, the Board of Trustees and our faculty.
