
{"id":13683,"date":"2010-11-10T13:54:44","date_gmt":"2010-11-10T21:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carrborocitizen.com\/main\/?p=13683"},"modified":"2010-11-10T15:14:51","modified_gmt":"2010-11-10T23:14:51","slug":"big-cookoff-in-efland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ibiblio.org\/carrborocitizen\/main\/2010\/11\/10\/big-cookoff-in-efland\/","title":{"rendered":"Big cookoff in Efland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mildred &#8220;Mama Dip&#8221; Council and Minister Robert Campbell will be among the celebrity judges when two Orange County residents compete in a community \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Throwdown\u00e2\u20ac\u009d celebrating African-American Foodways in the South this Saturday at noon at Efland-Cheeks Elementary School. <\/p>\n<p>Chrisean Fuller of Efland-Cheeks and D&#8217;Jenna Crayton of Chapel Hill will go head-to-head in the cooking contest, which features innovative twists on traditional vegetable dishes.<\/p>\n<p>At stake are the champion title and a $200 cash prize. The finalists&#8217; recipes \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Oven Roasted Okra and Spicy Saut\u00c3\u00a9ed Collard Greens \u00e2\u20ac\u201c were evaluated in a blind taste test by a panel of community and health experts, surpassing 18 other contest entries.
