Dr. Jim Bodfish, the Thomas E. Castelloe Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at UNC, will present  \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Autism: advances, current challenges, and future directions.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Dr. Bodfish\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Extraordinary Ventures at 200 S. Elliott Road in Chapel Hill. No pre-registration is required.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Geri Dawson, a past OPC presenter, has noted that North Carolina has been in the forefront in research and services. Dr. Bodfish will describe his work and that of colleagues at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. CIDD offers a range of services, including an autism assessment clinic for preschoolers, support for adolescents and adults and a clinic for treatment of medical issues related to autism.<\/p>\n<p>The clinical studies and applied practices by Dr. Bodfish and his colleagues are exciting developments for those individuals and families affected by autism. OPC invites all interested persons to attend.
