Vadney, 84, of Mebane, died Monday at Duke University medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>A native of Albany, NY, he was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and retired as a telephone repairman.<\/p>\n<p>A mass will be conducted at 11:00 Thursday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife, Dorothy V. Vadney; a daughter, Janet V. Hunker, of Mebane; three sons, Ward Vadney of Schenectady, NY, David Vadney of Laurence, NY and Michael Vadney of Plantation, FL; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.<\/p>\n<p>The family greeted friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Walker\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John W.
