
{"id":24908,"date":"2012-04-05T10:31:05","date_gmt":"2012-04-05T14:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carrborocitizen.com\/main\/?p=24908"},"modified":"2012-04-04T17:09:33","modified_gmt":"2012-04-04T21:09:33","slug":"carrboro-high-principal-resigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ibiblio.org\/carrborocitizen\/main\/2012\/04\/05\/carrboro-high-principal-resigns\/","title":{"rendered":"Carrboro High principal resigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Kevin Collins<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Staff Writer<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Carrboro High School Principal Kelly Batten has announced he will step down at the end of this school year to join Chatham County Schools as the district\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s executive director of secondary education at the start of July.<\/p>\n<p>Batten is the second principal in Carrboro High\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s history, and he joined the school in August 2008, a year after it opened. The timing\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s never right because change can be difficult, but this was appealing to me to get to work on the district level.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Batten does not know who his replacement will be, but he said the school has already announced their hiring timeline and process.
