Owner Cleveland \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Cleve\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Fogleman said there is a lot of work to be done, but hopes to reopen in September. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been a big nightmare,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153but the worst part is over.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I want to say I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been working almost 24\/7, except I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been sleeping. And sometimes I get up in the middle of the night.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153This week, they are taking the roof off, and they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll put the new roof on with the skylights,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Carol Fogleman, his wife, explained as a construction crew crawled over the roof supports of the big blue building on Weaver Street. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m hoping 90 days, but that may be optimistic.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The whole building is basically going to be brand new,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Cleve said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153More windows in the front. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going to be pretty nice.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>On November 8, a gasoline fire destroyed most of the building and damaged four cars, causing an initially estimated $350,000 in damages. Cleve now guesses that total losses are closer to $1 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153People around Carrboro have been real nice, pulling for F&#038;F,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Cleve said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ultra-nice. Super-nice. That part\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been a real blessing.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/p>\n<p>He said people have sent donations and offered to help clear out the charred shop. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Some I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t let help for insurance reasons.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cleve repairs cars on the side, getting help from friends at Lloyd Tire and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think the town would have been as responsive if it wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t for people asking,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Cleve said, explaining that people have written letters of support to the town government. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Some of our best customers, I think. We did a lot of student work. We try to keep the prices down for people without a lot of money.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Fogleman opened his first shop in Carrboro in 1962.
