But Carrboro\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s downtown business owners will have special treats for locals who don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want a homebound All Hallow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Even.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThe Beehive Salon, located at 102 E. Weaver St. in Carrboro, will help you get ready for the evening and help Orange County\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s abandoned animals at the same time. From 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, stylists will do Halloween make-up and hair in exchange for a $10 suggested donation in hopes of raising at least $1,000. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re all animal lovers here, so we decided to do something for the shelters,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d explained proprietress\/stylist Diane Koistinen. <\/p>\n<p>Half of the proceeds will go to the Animal Protection Society to buy a dishwasher to keep animals\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 food and water bowls clean. Another $500 will go the Orange County Animal Shelter for cages and supplies. Not dressing up? Stop by and make a donation anyway. For more information, call 932-4483.<\/p>\n<p>There also are options for folks who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d rather leave the cooking (and trick-or-treaters) to someone else. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We know people are concerned that all the parking in Carrboro will fill up with people walking to Franklin Street,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Kevin Callaghan, chef\/owner of Acme Food &#038; Beverage Co. at 110 E. Main St. To address that, he rented a private lot on Roberson Street. across from the restaurant. Diners making reservations will have access to the secure lot on a first-reserved, first-parked basis. Make your reservation at 929-ACME.<\/p>\n<p>Southern Rail and the Station at 201-C E. Main St. will be open as usual, with a twist. The Station will be converted into a haunted house\/bar with extra staff on hand to provide added security. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We hope that people will respect the parking \u00e2\u20ac\u201c most people should be walking or biking in Carrboro,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said owner Mike Benson.
