Drat. The staff wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t bite even if we promised to use a potato canon. Ah well at least that brings us to the subject of Turkeys.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThe time to get your order in is now, especially if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re searching for a locally raised and\/or hormone-free bird or one that is particularly large.<\/p>\n<p>Cliffs is taking orders now as is Weaver Street and Whole Foods. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re talking fresh, here. Food Lion, Lowe\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s and H-T have quite a bit in stock of the frozen variety.<\/p>\n<p>More stores are touting the buy-a-complete feast idea. Whole Foods staffs a holiday meal planning table that opens each day at 11 a.m. They also have a fairly straightforward online ordering system at wholefoodsmarket.com\/holidays\/<\/p>\n<p>WF\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fresh turkeys are going for $2.30 &#8211; $2.50 a pound range depending on size.<\/p>\n<p>Weaver Street is also offering complete meals \u00e2\u20ac\u201d including a vegan feast \u00e2\u20ac\u201d along with side dishes, roasting kits and pre-roasted turkeys from Plainville Farms at $3.49 a pound. Vegan pies are available ala cart as well. Their fresh turkeys (veg diet, antibiotic &#038; hormone free) are going for $2.49.<\/p>\n<p>Cliff is taking orders for fresh turkeys and special holiday cuts of other meats at 942-2196.<br \/>\nYou can also order fresh turkeys directly from several farmers at the Carrboro, South Estes and Hillsborough markets.
