Readers will also be interested to learn that the Carrboro Board of Aldermen made our top economic development priority for 2008 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153to explore green collar business development.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nIn working toward that end, Economic Development director James Harris attended last April\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Green for All\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Conference in Memphis, Tenn. There he heard from green jobs pioneers like Van Jones and Majora Carter. He also made connections and has continued to meet with green jobs activists from around the Triangle who are meeting to promote a regional and state agenda for green collar jobs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, James has met with the educators at Central Carolina Community College and at CHCCS to begin connecting educational programs with job opportunities. In September, as part of a national initiative, James organized a Green for All event during the Carrboro Farmers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Market where green product and service providers were able to meet with the public.
