The analysis is based on the first 15-year phase of the project and takes into account assumptions on demand, such as additional fire protection and more classroom space for local schools.<\/p>\n<p>The report shows that the direct impacts of the project will produce net deficits to the town of Chapel Hill between $780,000 and $792,000 annually and of roughly $50,000 annually for Carrboro.<\/p>\n<p>Orange County fares better in direct impacts according to the study, with additional revenue from both county and school-district taxes adding between $921,000 and $1.1 million.<\/p>\n<p>The anyalysis shows the towns and the county eventually seeing positive results once indirect impacts such as increases to the employment base and sales taxes are figured in.<\/p>\n<p>The report can be downloaded at <a href=\"http:\/\/research.unc.edu\/cn\/specifics.php\">http:\/\/research.unc.edu\/cn\/specifics.php<\/a><br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u201d Staff Reports<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Consultants hired by the university to study the fiscal impacts of Carolina North will hold a briefing for officials from Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Orange County on March 31.
