
{"id":6747,"date":"2009-08-20T08:47:12","date_gmt":"2009-08-20T16:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carrborocitizen.com\/main\/?p=6747"},"modified":"2009-08-20T08:47:12","modified_gmt":"2009-08-20T16:47:12","slug":"teachers-shop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ibiblio.org\/carrborocitizen\/main\/2009\/08\/20\/teachers-shop\/","title":{"rendered":"Teachers shop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Beth Mechum<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More than 400 teachers in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro system who teach grades 6-12 got a little extra cash in helping them prepare their classrooms this year. <\/p>\n<p>The teachers received $75 vouchers to shop at a three-day teacher supply store set up at the American Legion Hut in Chapel Hill with school supplies from Staples. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<\/p>\n<p>This is unexpectedly cool,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Ormand Moore said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been conditioned to expect lean times, and there is a pretty big bounty here.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/p>\n<p>Moore seemed especially excited about the high-tech gadgets on sale as he held a prized jump drive in his hand.
