The other night our friend returned home from work in Chapel Hill to find that a neighbor had come to her rescue by running an irrigation line over to her place and refilling the pond.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Since her feathered friends had gotten out of the habit, she had to lead them back down to the water. Once prompted, she said, they took to it like you know what and were still out there cruising around long after bedtime.<\/p>\n<p><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even though it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s tempting, please refrain from begging for a tropical system to send some rain our way.<\/p>\n<p>This time of year, you usually don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have to ask for one. A check of the Atlantic this week shows more and more evidence that we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re likely to have some kind of tropical visitor drop in sooner than we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d like.<\/p>\n<p>Got your hurricane kit together?
