At the regional contest, to be held today (Thurs.) at Wake Technical Community College, students from eastern North Carolina high schools will perform a 20-line monologue and sonnet. The winner of this competition will receive an expenses-paid trip to New York City for the national competition. <\/p>\n<p>In preparation for the CHS contest, 14 students participated in a four-week Shakespeare Acting Workshop led by a visiting artist from UNC\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Playmakers Repertory Company. The workshop was sponsored by Encore, the school\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s performing-arts booster club.
