This makes it far easier to embed items like capers, sun-dried tomatoes or \u00e2\u20ac\u201c heck \u00e2\u20ac\u201c bacon-bits.<br \/>\nAfter inquiring as to favorite styles, The Eater was hit with everything from our Hillsborough friend\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fundamentalist Kraft Singles\/Wonder Bread\/butter combo to this contribution from April McGreger, who has recently returned to market assisted by a guy named Moe: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Carrboro Farmers\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Market special: Chapel Hill Creamery Hickory Grove grilled cheese with Farmer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Daughter kimchi on Chicken Bridge Bakery sourdough.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nThe Eater is also in firm agreement with those who say a cast-iron skillet is the only way to go. If you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have a skillet or want to try this town\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s take on grilled cheese, there are a lot of options.<br \/>\nIn Carrboro, there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the pressed, very cheddar Cheesy at Neal\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Deli; Milltown\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s avocado\/tomato\/red onion with sharp cheddar on focaccia; Jessee\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s grilled cheese, which also features avocados; and the grilled pimento at Spotted Dog.<br \/>\nThe Big City features several grilled-cheese variations, most notably the Greek grilled cheese with all the fixins at Margaret\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Cantina. Elsewhere in Chapel Hill, try the gruyere-based grilled cheese served with saut\u00c3\u00a9ed cremini mushrooms at Sandwhich and the variation with green tomatoes at the Carolina Inn.<br \/>\nAnd if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re ever in Pittsboro and are looking for adventure (who isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t), stop by City Tap for the Chatham Chutney, which is described on the menu thusly: sharp cheddar cheese, Granny Smith apples, onion on sourdough bread smothered with local Kerala chutney (mild or hot). Note: Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t let the idea of Chatham County Kerala fool you \u00e2\u20ac\u201c hot means hot. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Drumroll, please<\/strong><br \/>\nThe annual black-tie ceremony at which the James Beard Awards are announced will be held Monday, and that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s when we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll find out if Lantern\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Andrea Reusing can add Best Chef in the Southeast to the dust jacket of her new book.<br \/>\nAlso in the list of nominees is Crook\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Corner and owner Gene Hamer. That means soft-shell season is upon us.
