If memory serves, the date is in the second week of April. So, yes, it was unexpected to find the deck, car and dog thoroughly dusted the other morning. You have to wonder what else has gotten an early start.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Good news:<\/strong> This month (and hopefully for a good long while), the Almanac\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s moon, planets and stars information comes by way of <strong>Amy Sayle<\/strong> at UNC\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Morehead Planetarium and Science Center (moreheadplanetarium.org).<\/p>\n<p>My apologies for last month\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s errors in what to look for in the heavens. The incident was proof that science should be left up to, you know, scientists. (Evidently, my sextant was set on Fahrenheit instead of Celsius.)<\/p>\n<p>April 1 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Sunrise 7:02 a.m.; Sunset 7:39 p.m.<br \/>\nApril 30 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Sunrise 6:25 a.m.; Sunset 8:03 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Full Moon \u00e2\u20ac\u201c April 6   Last Quarter \u00e2\u20ac\u201c April 13<br \/>\nNew Moon \u00e2\u20ac\u201c April 21   First Quarter \u00e2\u20ac\u201c April 29<\/p>\n<p>The full moon in <strong>April<\/strong> is known as the Egg Moon, Pink Moon, Fish Moon and Seed Moon<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planets &#038; Stars:<\/strong> The incredibly bright \u00e2\u20ac\u0153star\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in the west after sunset is planet <strong>Venus<\/strong>. Below lies <strong>Jupiter<\/strong>, which slides farther away from Venus and finally slips away into evening twilight near the end of the month. <strong>Mars<\/strong> appears high in the South or Southeast at dusk.
