It very much has the feel of a Herbie Gaudreau dance, as he was the first to put the heel-and-toe action in a contra. The various 16-count chunks are ones he used regularly.","","But it doesn't appear in his column. The closest match is the folk-processed \"Away We Go\", which when reprinted in Northern Junket (1960) only differed by having the B2 be a right and left through over and back. (The original from 1959 had a Needham Reel-type second progression. Most all his dances at this time period had a double progression.)","","So it may be one of Herbie's dances that wasn't printed in his column. Or more likely, a folk-processed version of \"Away We Go\"."],"Appearances":[{"source":"The Caller\/Teacher Manual for Contras","p":"22"},{"source":"Dancing for Busy People","p":"189","lo":"189"},{"source":"website Contralab","lo":"AlternateDuple.html#AstonPolkaContra"},{"source":"American Dance Circle","vol":"1998","no":"Sep","p":"19","lo":"199809i.pdf#page=22"},{"source":"American Square Dance","vol":"1971","no":"Aug","p":"29","lo":"1307#page=15"},{"source":"American Square Dance","vol":"1990","no":"Nov","p":"44","lo":"1538#page=44"},{"source":"American Square Dance","vol":"2008","no":"Feb","p":"28","altnames":["Ashton Polka"],"lo":"1744#page=28"},{"source":"New England Caller","vol":"1990","no":"Nov","p":"78","lo":"northeast_square_dancer_magazine_nsd\/NSD-199007-JUL-DEC.pdf#page=454"},{"source":"Sets in Order","vol":"1962","no":"10","p":"38","lo":"fc363745-6acd-4092-8656-a93ddea14d3a\/pdf#page=38"},{"source":"Sets in Order","vol":"1974","no":"4","p":"26","lo":"24ea04f1-3d1b-4489-b777-cbe710ccd699\/pdf#page=26"},{"source":"Oglebay Institute Syllabus","vol":"1981","no":"Spring","p":"15","lo":"1981-05%20Oglebay%20Institute%20Spring%20FDC%20Syllabus.pdf#page=20"},{"source":"Oglebay Institute Syllabus","vol":"1985","no":"Fall","p":"7","lo":"1985-08%20Oglebay%20Institute%20Fall%20FDC%20Syllabus.pdf#page=12"},{"source":"Oglebay Institute Syllabus","vol":"1995","no":"Spring","p":"13","lo":"1995-05%20Oglebay%20Institute%20Spring%20FDC%20Syllabus.pdf#page=18"},{"source":"Stockton Dance Camp Syllabus","vol":"1979","p":"3","lo":"1ErC-cGEMmQpAHeajI3U-ElAVSL1NrDem\/view"}],"OtherNames":[],"Videos":["https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6yghwK2KWjI","https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Zl6ZdCrFCRY&t=5m18s"],"VirtualVideos":[],"VariantVideos":[],"VariantVirtualVideos":[]}
