Disaster Transport Reviews

---------------------------------

I heard this was really bad. But it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Themeing was the problem....was too hard to follow, since one of the queues was used. A nice effort, not very good, but better than no themeing at all. Personally, however, I wished they had just left the theming out during the ride itself. The begining was great...really dark, had no idea where I was going...and then, I hit the theming. A room which was lit enough so that you could see the track, but you were moving too fast to know what was going on. I wish they kept it all dark...would have made the short ride much better.

An interesting cross between Space Mountain and Rolling Thunder, but too short.

I rode this Saturday, and waited about 25 minutes. Still a wimpy ride, but still better than Avalanche Run ever was. Audio in the third echo chamber (the last one before you go up the stairs to the platform) was (thankfully) turned off. There is a new double-row of yellow tracers along the lift hill. I'm not sure that I like them, but they are kind of neat.

---------------------------------

Ugh! Boring theming for a boring bobsled ride. Only three "swoops" added up to a ride which seemed like it lasted 30 seconds or so. Kind of neat that it's entirely enclosed and dark, but it wasn't worth the 20 minutes wait on Friday. People were waiting for *2 hours* for this on Saturday!

---------------------------------

It's too bad that someone put such work into the theming of this ride, since it is totally wasted. The acoustics and deafening volume (CP seems to think that bad acoustics can be overcome with volume -- not) had us leaving each of the staging areas thinking "what was that all about". One of the more bizarre aspects was how the attendants stopped the line for each theme area. In fact, we waited about 15 minutes (in a hot 4 PM sun, which was also reflecting off the pavement and the side of the building --like being in an oven) before they let us enter the inside queue.

The ride itself was OK, I guess. Lots of helixes (helii ??) and stuff - no drops to speak of. We all liked the dark parts better than the lit scenes we zipped by. Too hard to figure out the theming.

I hope CP gives up on the theming and just makes this a totally dark ride. Then we'd ride again.
