Open on a dorm room, the room is neat and clean expect for a pile of dirty laundry spilling out of one of the closets. AMY and her roommate, MEGAN, are getting ready to go out; applying make-up, styling hair and other superficial final preparations. AMY is discussing her desire to start a new relationship. MEGAN is very unsupportive, citing the speed with which AMY has been going through boyfriends, it seems like she's always hooking up with some new guy, and after a week they're gone and she's got a new guy. MEGAN asks what happened to Brad, AMY's last boyfriend, who seems to have disappeared from campus. AMY doesn't know, but claims that she's over him any way. MEGAN continues to push for AMY to slow down and take some time off from romantic relationships. As AMY starts to re-but there is a knock at the door. AMY continues to talk as MEGAN opens the door revealing their friend STEVE. STEVE makes a dramatic entrance, complaining that the girls aren't ready yet, his entrance interrupts AMY. Both girls give him a dirty look, grab their coats and start leaving with out STEVE, commenting that they've been ready and just waiting for him. STEVE chases after them, begging for forgiveness (jokingly) and asking where they are going to party this week. A bar or party. STEVE walks up to MEGAN with three drinks in hand and asks where AMY went. MEGAN gestures across the room to where AMY is flirting with KEN. STEVE begins to complain about AMY's behavior; MEGAN blankly nods, having heard all this before. As STEVE continues to drone on, commenting that he though they had barley just gotten rid of the last boyfriend, AMY seductively walks away from KEN (who immediately starts hitting on a different girl) towards STEVE and MEGAN. AMY declares that she's "found a winner", but she feels a little sick and wants to head back to the room. MEGAN agrees saying she's tired and the party's lame. STEVE jumps on-board, promising to keep them safe from "the dangers of the night". In the background KEN and the other girl have started making-out. The next day. STEVE and MEGAN are sitting outside talking about AMY and the past evening. STEVE is very concerned; explaining that KEN has a reputation as a womanizer and is known for his explosive temper. MEGAN agrees, stating that AMY's taste in men has been going downhill for as long as she's known her. KEN and AMY arrive at the table, arm in arm. AMY does a quick round of introductions and a tense conversation starts. KEN is obviously coming on to MEGAN, though he has his arm around AMY. STEVE is glaring at KEN and making dry sarcastic remarks. After a minute or two KEN leaves; he walks off, approaches a girl in the background, they embrace and walk off together. At the table STEVE is bashing KEN and trying to convince AMY to just walk away from him now. AMY isn't really hearing what STEVE is saying; pointing out that he does this every time she starts seeing someone new. MEGAN jumps in with a comment about KEN's reputation and AMY counters with a reference to her own reputation. After another round of comments AMY leaves to go back to her room and study. As AMY is walking away STEVE comments that someone should be looking after AMY to make sure she doesn't get hurt. AMY in her room studying, someone knocks at the door. STEVE enters. STEVE tries again to dissuade AMY from pursuing a relationship with KEN. They argue and STEVE leaves. As he is walking away from the suite he runs into KEN. He and KEN argue, with STEVE trying to intimidate KEN; but KEN retaliates physically, knocking STEVE down. KEN then continues on to AMY's room. STEVE waits in the hall, glowering at KEN, shaking his head and pounding his fist into his hand. MEGAN enters the dorm to find STEVE sitting in the lounge. STEVE has a black eye and immediately starts filling MEGAN in on what KEN did to him as they walk to MEGAN and AMY's room. They open the door to find AMY teary-eyed with blood running down from the corner of her mouth. MEGAN starts to console AMY while STEVE storms off. Later that night, STEVE returns to AMY's room. AMY is there by herself. He starts to try to comfort her, though she doesn't seem to upset any more. STEVE comments that he had been running around campus all day looking for KEN, but couldn't find him anywhere. AMY states that it's probably better that way. STEVE starts to bash KEN while continuing to console AMY. AMY seems to be growing more and more distant; she turns away from STEVE. STEVE reaches out to her and as she turns back to him he quickly leans in to kiss her, AMY starts to push him away but their lips have already locked. FLASH BACK. KEN enters AMY's room. She is still up set from the argument with STEVE. KEN hugs AMY, telling her to forget about SETVE and moves to kiss her. AMY breaks away from KEN, telling him that they're not ready, that he's not ready for this. KEN moves towards her saying that he's always ready and roughly pulls AMY to him and forces her to kiss him. As they kiss KEN's expression turns to one of shock and AMY is more sucking than kissing. The scene flashes with a red tone three times and KEN falls to the floor. AMY is standing over him as the body slowly vanishes, leaving a pile of clothes. Back with STEVE and AMY, they're still kissing. STEVE's eyes roll back in his head and he falls away from AMY. She looks on as his body slowly fades away. After his body has disappeared she picks up his clothes and tosses them onto the pile of dirty laundry. She then turns to the mirror, takes a tissue and wipes a line of blood that is running from the corner of her mouth. Just as she finishes MEGAN comes in the room. She asks how AMY is doing. AMY smiles and says she's fine and that maybe MEGAN was right and she should take some time off from relationships, she tosses the used tissue into the wastebasket.
