Ships of the Spanish-American War--
Battleships--USS Indiana

USS Indiana (Battleship # 1) was built between 1891 and 1895. During the Spanish-American War, she was active in operations off Cuba, and took part in the naval battle off Santiago on 3 July 1898. Indiana's service continued through World War I. In 1920, she was sunk as a target during tests of the effectiveness of aerial bombs.

This page features views of the Indiana, including photographs taken on board the ship.

If better quality reproductions than these digital images are desired, see "How to Obtain Photographic Reproductions."
