Elaine: what is the conversion rate for 200ppm active
bacteria in terms of counts? How many bacteria are account to 1 ug of
bacteria in dry weight?

  The bacteria are counted, length and width measured,
  and biovolume calculated.   Bacteria in general have about the same
  bulk density, and so convert to biomass.
Not weighed.
Dry
  weight basis, figure bacteria are about 80% water.

  <><><><><><<>Hey Dave, So
    using the above calculation(example) the
bacteria are weighed.  Is
    that right?  200ppm active bacteria in 25
gallons water weigh 0.67
    oz. Would they be dried or  as is, basis?
That's
    interesting. Dennis
