Hi Bill -
Most mushroom-forming fungi are mycorrhizal species. Yes, all mushrooms are
fungi, but they typically need a host to grow on. They won't survive and
grow in the tea, at least that anyone is aware!
It's more likely that the fungi you want are in the humus layer in the
forest. Take a handful of that, especially anything with thick, white
strands of fungi and add it into the compost in the bag.
