I believe that in 1924 when Rudold Steiner suggested farmers should add BD
500 (horn compost) to water and stir creating a constantly reversing
vortex, he was describing a manual means to add oxygen to water and
compost.

Sounds like compost tea to me :-) no compressor required just lots of
manpower - you need to keep stirring for one hour.

Now we BD people will tell you that there's more than oxygen being added
but I don't think that anyone, even the US patent office, can dispute that
stirring is a method of making aerated compost tea.
