I believe that pH adjustment of the Compost Tea solution has
more to do with making a comfortable medium for the organisms
that you are trying to grow rather than trying to influence soil pH
( which is not going to happen as a direct effect – only as an indirect
effect of the organisms working on the soil ).
Fungi prefers a lower pH. According to Dr Elaine 5.5 if I am not
mistaken
whereas bacteria lives well in pH 7.0.

I’m concerned about the pH issue. What is the point in getting the pH
adjustment in our compost or tea if we are going to irrigate with water
that is exponentially higher. Many of us have found soil pH adjustment
with alkaline soils to be a futile exercise. Are we giving to much
credence to the chemical availability charts? I think so! We think we
have a problem based on flawed fertilization methods. If I go through
the exercise to lower pH and then irrigate what have I gained? Many
systems, source materials and nutrient packs are exceeding Ingham’s
fungal standards consistently without all the balderdash.

vinegar to alter the pH in his AH and got very fast growth. I worry
that this may have a deleterious effect on some of the microbes. John
really knows what he is doing, so I think this is worth looking into.
I have not done much testing on the pH side of things....there is just
so much she who is in charge will allow by way of experimenting.
