Here in Central Texas we use agriculture feed grade cornmeal to control th=
e fungal problem Rhizoctonia (Brown Patch) in St. Augustine grass. It appar=
ently works in that it feeds the Trichoderma (sp.?), which attacks and kill=
s the Rhizoctonia. It is applied at 20 lbs./1000 sq.ft. and is very effecti=
ve. It is also 10% nitrogen.

I have used Bio-Trek 22G (I think this was isolated at Cornell?) which co=

It seems to me we should be focusing on diversity rather than trying to i=

Trichoderma species are strongly antagonistic to other fungi. The exact
nature of this relationship is still not clear, but it appears that they
kill other fungi with a toxin and then consume them using a combination o=
f
lytic enzymes. This suggests they are actually microbial predators.
