The comparison is really apples to oranges. CT does NOT replace compost or
vermicompost. Most of us still need compost to build organic materials in
our soils. Compost tea does not add carbon sources to soils in the volumes
we need. Compost products are needed to build many agricultural as well as
horticultural soils.

Subject: [compost_tea] Differences between compost tea, compost piles, and
vermiculture
Hi my name is Tad Hussey, and I've been following
along with this group for the last couple of months
trying to learn more about the science and process of
compost tea.
My question is a little more general in nature, but I
am starting to help my family with their compost tea
business and was wondering what the quantifiable
advantages to compost tea were over compost piles and
vermiculture, or if anyone has done that research and
actually has some data.
Does just offer a more portable and applicable method
than other types or does it generate (and I realize
that this depends highly on the brewer and the food)
higher numbers of beneficial organisms?
Thanks,
Tad Hussey
