Re: Pc slammed in Whole Earth Review

with you felicity,

we ahve bought a block of ground that has been severely damaged by past
agricultural interests namely cattle grazing, and like you we are just
starting with the planting of wind breaks and creating habitat etc.,.

i just wonder when science ever takes into account the damage done by
unsustaianable agriculture while they work out the dollar value per input.
in this case here i reckon the agriculturist who made the profits and did
the damage should be made to repair it, then if they took that into their
scientific accounting maybe the venture wouldn't have been viable in the
first place.

seems to me that science works within very narrow boundries and usually get
the results that whom ever is paying for the study wants. and the
environment would be a lot healthier just maybe.

my opinion
