The International School of Paris is the only anglophone school in the city of Paris that provides for children from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. Ours is an international community that actively promotes among the students a sense of mutual respect and understanding - an awareness of the increasing interdependence among the diverse people of the world.
The school was founded in 1964 with six students and two staff members in one classroom. Today, there are more than 300 students and 55 staff members in three buildings in the sixteenth arrondisment. The middle and high schools are a short walk from the Eiffel Tower; the primary school is near the Ranelagh Gardens.
The school is a non-profit, independent and co-educational establishment. It is a member of the European Council of International Schools, the New England Association of Independent Schools and the Headmasters' Conference.
The school is fully accredited for college entrance in the United States and provides access to universities in over 70 countries through its Interbational Baccalaureate program.
At all levels, the curriculum is built on the best methods and ideas from a number of
national systems and reflects our international character. The courses, like many offered
by more than three hundred other international schools, are structured both to foster the
quick integration of the students into the new environment and to facilitate re-entry when
they return to their national systems.
In framing these programs, we are fortunate in being able to profit from our unique
location by making use of Paris and surroundings as a vital educational resource.
