Memo to: G. "Sheik of the Burning Sands" Talbeau
From: Jake
Subject: Winter Golf

Ah, nothing like a little bad weather to get a good-natured fellow down in the dumps about his golf game. Hell, some golfers have even been heard to moan something about taking up sailing again. Balderdash! What rubbish. Oh, its painful enough. Fifty yard drives, power "fades", and chilly-dips will make a feller wanna curl up and die sometimes. But you just gotta have faith that spring will arrive, the zoyisa will turn green, and the flowers will bloom. But, in those long dark hours of gloom before Tax Day warms the heart, one must above all else remember the three (3) fundamental truths of winter golf:

-1- A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day in the office hustling commodity paper products.
-2- Maintaining the proper handicap is no easy task, but is best done in the winter months.
-3- Into every life, even in winter, a few putts must fall.

Illegitima non carborundum, baby!
