Re: [compost_tea] ornamental H

John,

Yeah, it sure sounds like you overloaded!  How could you clog up the Kis holes with all that pressure coming out of them? Not sure why you mixed AH with the wormgold on the first try!  Also, rock dust isn't needed as this stuff has volcanic ash in it.

In any case, what you got was a good tea because I know the brewer and have used worm castings and AH before.  Did you pre innoculate the AH to get fungi growth before making the tea?

The smell was too much kelp.

As for Orchids, I feed mine with Tea. They look better ie leaf wise and I have stemed a bad infestation of scale, but it has only been one year so it is hard to say if there has been a difference in blooms. Frankly, I am not sure how the soilfood web works on orchids, but I am sure there is one ......I do know that orchid seeds won't germinate without special mychorrizal fungi....and teas should work as well as fertilizers. No one feeds the wild orchids Peters or Miracle Gro....

Orchid growers will tell you that there is no organic way to grow orchids. I think CT may prove them wrong.

Cheers,

Jeff
