[compost_tea] what constitutes a soil drench?

You can either spray tea on the foliage where you need at least 70% coverage, not much per leaf, but may be a cup per plant?????or you put it into the soil in sufficient amounts to truly inoculate the soil. How much? That depends on the type of soil but you have to use more than would simply coat a leaf, but probably not that much more per plant.  Up here we transplant to our gardens in the spring and apply a soil drench of six to eight ounces per transplant....or we soak the transplant before we put it in the ground and it takes up that much.....That is what I would call a soil drench. By the same token, pouring tea onto the soil of greenhouse plants in place of a regular watering is a soil drench.

But, there may be other meanings......?

Cheers,
