Re: [compost_tea] Re: Big Industry?

Hi Elaine
I really have no problem with the ICTC web site, it's a beginning. If I did have a criticism it would have to be that the "member dues" link should be in the "coming soon" part of the page, and most of the headings that are in the "coming soon" part should be spelled out in detail. I think they call this putting the cart before the horse, if I'm not mistaken. Try as I may, I can't get the FEEDBACK link to work.
Secondly, there has been an absence of posting, other than the solicitation of members, from the council. Now I see that you have given Laura a response, but her questions were asked in a public forum, and if the council has nothing to hide, then they should answer in a public forum. The rest of us should not be excluded.
Thirdly, who will enforce these standards that are being paid for by the membership but not yet established? Cost? Do any of you think for one second that this will prevent the shadier characters in this industry from flogging substandard products? Not on your life. They'll get away with it and be farther ahead because they won't  be paying to belong to any organization. This is the case in ANY industry. I've seen it time and time again.

Had this been handled in a more professional manner I probably would have remained a lurker (lemming). One hand out for membership dues and lack of open communication, just doesn't instill any confidence in me at all.

Once again, I hope I am proven wrong.

Thanks for the explanation. What do you think of the ICTC site?  Any suggestions for improvement?
