Re: [compost_tea] Equipment

There has been a great discussion of O2 probes on this list earlier this year.  Go back and check out the archives.

We're trying to put together a microscope that is hand-held and will work in the field.  The problem right now is finding a high-intensity hand-held UV source.  We need broad spectrum UV light.  Anyone know of such a lamp?  Run on battery?

Once we have that, the rest of the system is ready to go!  Then you can assess your own bacterial and fungal coverage on leaf surfaces!!!!!  No more sending leaf samples to the lab.  Till then, however, you will need to send your samples to SFI.

But we will soon have labs in Canada, in Mexico, in California, possibly in Washington State, and possibly Texas.  So there will be a lab near you soon!
