Your subject says high yielding.  Potato is a very high yielding
species.  Being a C3 species it will also respond to higher levels
of CO2.  However the vines are toxic to some animal species (e.g.
humans).  Sweet potato is another possibility, and the vines are
edible as well as the potatoes.  Tuskegee University has done a
lot of research for NASA on growing sweet potato in closed 
environments for the space station.
