Visited Jackson Park and Chimney Rock today.
Jackson Park was a wash out mostly, but we were able to pick out a few birds
before we retreated.
Orange crowned warbler
Prarie warbler
Redstart
WE vireo
RC kinglet
So we ate lunch and decided to try out Chimney Rock. And Chimney "rocked."
The following birds were observed on the Forest Stroll path.
Wild turkey
Blue gray gnatcatcher
WB nuthatch
RC kinglet
Eastern phoebe
Hermit thrush
Red eyed vireo
White eyed vireo
Yellow throated vireo
Hooded warbler
Worm-eating warbler- one of them was sitting about 10 feet away with his
whole body vibrating away as he sung.
Blackpoll warbler
Black and white warbler
Black throated green warbler
American redstart
Yellow rumped warbler
Cerulean warbler- It sure seems these guys are on territories.
Scarlet tanager
Indigo bunting
Wood thrush
2 new sp. with the Worm-eating and Cerulean, so not a bad day!
