Just received my latest Cornell "Birdscope" newsletter and there is an
article about a new online nationwide birding checklist called "eBird"
which will be up this fall. It will enable birders to report their
sightings from anywhere to a central database so that we can access data
on the status of bird populations from around the country. You will be
able to print checklists for areas that you plan to visit and or how
many sightings of a certain species have occured in a region. No exact
date available yet on the official launching. Cornell Labs
