Hi y'all,
Did some field work along the Little Pee Dee River today from Yauhannah
to the confluence of the Great and Little Pee Dee. The birds along the river
were pretty sporty. We were treated to a veritable "kite-fest" from around
noon 'til mid-afternoon. From Bull Island northward, Swallow-tailed and
Mississippi kites were about as common as Ironwood and Laurel Oak near the
edges of Bull Island. The farther upriver we traveled, the more we saw.
In spite of the very cool and windy conditions, it was a rather splendid
day.
Cheers,
gary
